Domestic flights are more expensive: $60-$80 for a flight from Tehran to Shiraz, and $50-$60 from Tehran to Isfahan. Don't forget the prices go up during the holidays and high season. Trains are also very convenient for travelling between cities. You can take a train to almost all of main city all around the country and it would cost you almost as much as a VIP bus. However, if you are arriving by plane, there are currency exchange offices in all the airports in Iran. One can exchange a little bit of your cash for Iranian currency as soon as you land, or you can exchange it all and then, exchange back whatever you have left when you are leaving.
