Hara Forest

There is an 8,000 hectare forest exactly behind Qeshm’s northern fin. This forest is locally called Hara, or mangrove forest. The amazing point about this forest is that the mangroves disappear during the high tide and again appear during the low tide. Another fact about them is that the roots are in salt water, but their system allows just the sweet water to the reach the leaves. You can also enjoy bird watching in this area.

Chahkooh Canyon

Chahkooh is literally an incredible natural wonder in Qeshm Island. First of all, make sure you visit there with a professional guide. This canyon is similar to the stars valley in some senses, but it has its own beauties. Chahkooh Canyon is made as a result of erosion from rainwater on sedimentary stones. At first, you’ll see a wide pass, but as you approach further, it gets narrower and narrower. The patterns are really breathtaking.

Stars Valley

Stars valley is very popular among Iranians and nowadays among foreign visitors. But why is it named as the valley of stars? That’s because of its rocky shapes, as if it is coming from another planet. These shapes are made as a result of erosion by precipitation during years. This valley is made of marl and sandstone and in parts you’ll see tall formations similar to canyon paths, and in other parts there will be hollowed-out spaces. Try to visit this site at the end of the day to see the sunset and the reflection of light off the walls.

Aside from the wind catchers, there are also some water reservoirs in Laft, which are still in use today. Men also here wear their traditional cloths.
